1. Is there a real need for your services? Do people really want to have their floors sanded and sealed?
Floor Sanding is Big Business! There are many different premises that have wooden flooring, flooring which periodically requires sanding and re polishing to bring back the “new look”. Wooden Flooring is very expensive to purchase and even more expensive to fit! Sanding offers a much cheaper and quicker way to replace or update a well-worn wooden floor.
Private Homes, Commercial buildings such as pubs and hotels are frequent Customers of the Ultimate Floor Sanding Company. In the UK there are almost 25.3 million premises that could be potential customers of the business! (Our franchisees typically need to service just 100 premises a year...)

2. How hard is it to get customers?
When a newly qualified franchisee leaves the training centre, a Marketing Launch Package is set in motion to “Kick Start” the franchisees business.
This will deliver the first few jobs for the new franchisee to “get his teeth into”. When the first job comes along head office support staff will be there to help and assist you.
Thereafter the ongoing marketing effort is split, with the franchisee looking after their own local marketing, but using the templates/materials and advice of Head Office, while Head Office look after National Marketing Strategy.
3. What’s the competition like?
There is little credible competition, there are many independent operators in the sector, most of them are decorating contractors or similar, who just do floor sanding as a bit of a sideline. There are also some flooring fitting companies who offer floor sanding, often by sub contracting the work. Lastly there are a few specialist companies.

4. What type of person is perfect for this business?
We are very selective about the people we take on board. Why? Because our success is directly related to your success. Therefore we can’t afford to accept just anyone.
We know that working from home, as your own boss, is very attractive, that’s why we do have a stringent policy on recruitment. For starters you must have the following qualities, or we won’t even consider you …
- Are highly motivated and “hands on”
- Have good personal discipline
- Are fit and healthy
- Are happy using email and office PC programs
- Are hardworking and honest
- Comfortable talking to customers (you need to be able to communicate well)
And most importantly…
- Have the drive, desire, and ambition to be the best!
5. Can I really earn a good living?
Yes you can. Typical first year turnover is targeted at around £60,000, of which £25,000 is your pre tax profit after all costs. Year 2 and year 3 have much greater profit potential.
We will be happy to have a detailed discussion of the financial projections during a face to face meeting.
But don’t for one minute think that it’s a ‘walk in the park’. You still have to earn your money! You do have to put the effort in, but because our systems are so detailed and straightforward you work smarter – not harder.
6. What support structure do you have in place?
We believe that the support structure of any franchise organisation is one of the most important aspects of running a successful franchise.
You have to know that you’ll never be left alone ‘to get on with it’. Of course our training is so detailed you won’t need constant supervision, but you will need help from time to time.

7. How do your training and systems compare to other franchise organisations?

8. How much is the upfront Franchise fee?
The Franchise fee is reviewed after every training course. At the moment it’s just £32,000 (€36,000) +VAT. Reviewed after each course.
9. What does the Franchise fee include?
All training, the Franchise Licence, start up equipment package, sign writting and fit out of your van, and an initial launch marketing campaign. Download our mini prospectus for full details
10. Do I have to pay a monthly management fee?
Our Management Service Fee is set at just 8.0% of turnover.
11. Do I have to pay a marketing contribution?
Our national marketing fee is set at 2.0% of turnover.
This fund is used to purchase national marketing that would be beyond the reach of any individual franchisee. Typically advertisements in national “lifestyle” magazines etc feature highly as well as national internet based advertising.
12. How long does it take to get back my upfront Franchise fee?
Unlike many other franchise opportunities we’ve set the fee at a level where we know 90% of our people will have turned over more than double the amount in their first year.
13. What are the typical working hours/week?
40-50 hours for a typical week
14. Where would the customers be located?
Within your exclusive franchise territory. This is the part of the county that you will be granted an exclusive license to operate in. Typically these areas have a population of not less that a quarter of a million people!
15. How do you guarantee the earnings in year 1?
If at the end of your first 12 months trading, your have not turned over at least €20,000, then, provided you have worked full time to develop your business and followed the system, we will:
1. Put your franchise business up for resale - so you can get as much of your original investment back as possible. And…
2. Make up the difference between your actual earnings and the Guaranteed €20,000
So the risk you have is “only” making €20,000 in the first year!

16. How can you guarantee the earnings from each Franchise after year 1?
We can't guarantee the earnings from each franchise, but since we have over ten years successful trading in the industry we know what we are talking about. All of our projections are based on actual trading figures.
As with all businesses (including franchises) it is down to the efforts of the individual franchisee to make the business work for them. But choosing a franchise like the Ultimate Floor Sanding Franchise, massively improves your chances of success!
